When recent Korean box office hit Haeundae was just riding to the top of it’s peak in reaching 10 million viewers, disaster struck. The Korean film industry predicted it to be the movie of the year but plans were erased after illegal DVDs were made in China. Prior to discovering the bootlegs, they decided to distribute this movie in China.

During an event for the movie on Aug. 25, someone uploaded the DVD quality version with the Chinese subtitles online. The movie rapidly spread like a virus. Police did some investigation and they believe it was someone who worked for the movie. What a shame. This movie looked like it’d be as good and meet the standards of American movies. This movie did remind me of The Day After Tomorrow, but a lot better.
