Everyone wants to hear more news on Jaebum. We especially want to hear it come from JYP, who recruited Jaebum, and watched him grow. This is just a glimpse into what JYP shared in a public letter about Jaebum:

JYP proposed that 4 years ago, Jaebum, a troubled youth, was met by music and was transformed. Jaebum came to Korea following his passion for dancing and music. Eventually, he began to get rid of his childish behavior, and become a man more devoted to musical arts.

“Just as things were turning for the bright side, Jaebeom’s online posts from his rebellious years unfortunately surfaced. He was extremely regretful and sorry to his 2PM members, to me, to the company wokers, to the fans, and most of all to the Korean people who had received him so warmly.He believed that if he hesitated making a decision, the fans would turn their anger to the other 2PM members as well. Even more, the current situation made it impossible to perform on stage.”

Jaebum worked very hard to get those friends. The feeling of loneliness and misunderstanding is what got Jaebum in trouble. Now, when he got the intimate relationships he needed, netizens made him break it apart because he wants to do what’s best for 2PM.

Jaebum wrote a letter to JYP after he departed. He wrote, “I was really punk with no respect back then, right? I’m sorry. Because of you, my view on life has changed so much. I’ve become a stronger person and a much better person. Thank you so much.”
