It seems that the summer heat has gotten the best of people, making them do crazy things. Take these people for example:

5. Man Burns His Home Down In The Name of Gundam
Yoshifumi Takabe must have some serious issues if he wants to commit suicide by burning himself, along with his home and mother, for some Gundam models. It can’t be healthy for a 29 year old man to be so attached to his toys. The good thing about this incident was that he and his mom had miraculously survived with no injuries. He must have thought of his mom as the devil… but wait until he goes to jail. His cellmates are probably going to give him more hell than his mom….and maybe be more intimate too.

4.Car Thief gets owned by a Judo Throw
Car thieves in Japan beware! Local Japanese woman, Mariko Yamauchi (45), is on the loose. She was spotted in a parking lot on September 15, holding down a young Ryo Aoki (24) who attempted to steal her car. Apparently he was no match for her as she threw him down using her judo skills (she’s a third dan in karate). She suffered minor injuries as the police were making their way to the scene. She must of knocked him out good as police questioned him on the incident and his response was, “I have no recollection of that.” This was a time for necessary force. I’m sure the guy wouldn’t have stopped if she asked, “Mister, may you please stop jacking my car?”

3. Listen to 82 year old Ko Akemitsu or else!
67 year old Akira Otsuka unfortunately died 3 hours after he was stabbed by his neighbor Ko Akemitsu. Who knew their first meeting would be their last? I guess it was hate at first sight. To make the story short: Akemitsu went outside to caution Otsuka, who was playing shogi (basically Japanese chess); an argument erupted; Otsuka was stabbed. The police believe that the argument was over shogi but that is left unclear. So what ultimately lead to this unfortunate ending? Well, I’ll let Otsuka’s words sum it up: “I stabbed him because he didn’t listen to me.”

2. Man stabs noisy sister
Motives for stabbing people is getting ridiculous. First there was that lady who was killed over an argument about stray cats. Then that guy who was killed over an argument of shogi. Now 22 year old Daisuke Sato has stabbed his sister several times in the chest which resulted in her death at the hospital. His reason? “My sister’s room was noisy, so I stabbed her.” What kind of reason is that? My sister is loud all the time but that doesn’t prompt me to stab her. Maybe he was having a bad day and didn’t want to deal with the noise. At least he called the police after he stabbed her although the call didn’t save his sister.

1. Burglar gets a scary surprise
This was one crazy story. A serial burglar was sneaking into a home when a tenant caught him and slained him with a Japanese sword called a katana. The resident is a medical student attending Johns Hopkins University. A burglary recently took place at the home which cost the student a few laptops and a Playstation game console. Guess he wasn’t going to take it anymore and decided to take drastic action (with a sword)to prevent future burglaries. Apparently the police aren’t going to arrest him if his actions were for self-defense. According to the student, the burglar attacked him first which lead him to slice off the suspect’s left hand and cut his neck. Ouch! That’s a brutal attack just for a robbery but he must have been in a state of panic and couldn’t control himself.
