All you glee fans, come and check this rising Asian star out! I clicked my facebook one day, and lots of my friends’ statuses were “glee” “OMGosh GLEE” “Glee is on“. What is Glee?

Glee is a new drama that includes musicals and comedy. It airs on Fox every Wednesday at 9 PM. I already looked at the first part of the first episode on Youtube, and it already looks interesting. Since I am very into music, I think I will be definitely watching this show when I make time in my busy life.

Who is in Glee? Jenna Ushkowitz. Suprisingly she was born on April 28, 1986 in Seoul, South Korea. She was adopted and raised in New York City, and went to a Catholic school known for it’s theater department. Growing up, she became friends with Glee costar, Lea Michele.

Jenna Ushkowitz was accustomed to musical performances and acting at a very young age. Since the age of three, she was on Sesame Street, and As the World Turns. When she was 13, she sangs at the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. She sang in front of thousands of people!

As Jenna grew older, she began to receive and participate in bigger performances. It first started with her high school performance, Les Misérables. After this, she acted in Honk! as Penny, Inez in The Baker’s Wife, Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, and Romaine Patterson in The Laramie Project.

Now she moved on to the famous TV show, Glee. It surprised me that she was Korean. Maybe if she could speak fluent Korean, she could have had the role of Elle Woods in Korea’s Legally Blonde musical? I don’t know, but Jessica is one of my favorite international singers!
