G-Dragon finally did it. He has more album sales than Super Junior! (Sidenote: ELF is the official fanclub name for Super Junior).
At the time when G-Dragon was suffering along with his YG Entertainment staff members, good news came to them. They reached 116,270 in album sales. Super Junior’s “Sorry, Sorry” album was able to get 116,131 album sales. Wow. The next two in the list was SNSD’s Genie and SNSD’s Gee, followed by 2NE1.
I don’t know if this is the TOTAL sales, because I read SNSD reached over the 100,000 total sales. However, the fact that fans still liked and bought his music despite the plagiarism accusations shows that they have faith in G-Dragon. Hopefully, this will boost G-Dragon’s spirits and help YG to make more music. The reason why I like G-Dragon is that he tries to bring American music into Korea. The idea of two different countries’ music being mixed into one by G-Dragon is very admirable.
However, if you think 100,000 sales is almost impossible, DBSK did the impossible. 300,000 fans preordered the Mirotic CD when it came out an year ago. Their sales in total were over 500,000! No surprise, it’s not a big deal and that’s not a lot…since they have over 800,000 fans registered in their official fanclub!
Congratulations to all groups that made it in the top 5 highest album sales!
