It hasn’t even been a week and the dust from the Balloon Boy news stories have yet to settle. Naturally, the Balloon Boy parody song ALREADY exists. Oddly enough, this parody song entitled, “I’m in a Box” is a parody of a parody song by–you guessed it– The Lonely Island’s “I’m on a Boat.”

If you’ve absolutely no clue about what this Balloon Boy business is, let me break it down for you. Last Thursday, a family from Colorado fooled America into thinking that their 6 year old son was in an unmanned giant balloon that had escaped into the air. When the balloon was found and brought to the ground, it was discovered that the boy was not in the balloon. Moments later we find that the boy, Falcon Heene, was hiding in a box in the attic the whole time and the whole thing was just a hoax to garner media attention. And here, we have a parody of everything that’s been on the news lately in America.

The parody is funny and has its moments. To me, it could’ve gone a more original route, but it’s still a good effort. Makes me feel bad for Falcon Heene. He’ll always be the Balloon Boy.
