The Astro Boy film has blasted off into theaters everywhere, leaving us with this week’s pin game results. Astro Boy was yet another one of those films we all had expected to do well, but proved us otherwise. This time around, it was our skeptical pin game players that won. When it comes to remade films, we’re all very skeptical and apprehensive. Perhaps we should take note of that for the next time a classical film is remade into a modern one. This week, Astro boy closed in at Rottentomatoes with 48%. Not bad, but we all wanted better.

The general Rottentomatoes consensus says, “While it isn’t terribly original, and it seems to have a political agenda that may rankle some viewers, Astro Boy boasts enough visual thrills to please its target demographic.” Overall, not fun for adults that understand political agenda, but fun for the kids.
