Bakuman, is a manga about two kids who want to write/draw manga. It seems like a boring idea and when I first started reading it, I wasn’t expecting much out of it. The first chapter I read didn’t really leave a good impression on me. It felt a bit awkward and the love story was too far-fetched. It’s the kind of story that gets better as you read it though. After following the series for a few weeks, its become something to look forward to every week.
I later found out that the artist and writer are the same people behind Death Note. The art in Bakuman was so different I didn’t even recognize it. It’s a completely different story from Death Note though so if you enjoyed Death Note, you might not like Bakuman. Still its fun to read and worth checking out. The story is really interesting and informative about how the manga industry works.
Pictured is one of the manga inside the manga. Some of my favorite parts are pages that were taken out of the manga inside the series.
