Welcome back warriors of the crystal! Final Fantasy XIII’s site has been majorly updated over this weekend and some of the things they have given us will literally give you goosebumps. Just take a look at Lightning’s thigh, the leg is so detailed in 3D that they figured out how to make convincing goosebump art! Nevermind the thigh gazing, it should be no surprise what my thigh-dar will find.

Major character heroine has been introduced and goes by the name of Oerba Yun Fang. She is a L’Cie who helps Sanctum. Her character is voiced by Mabuki Andou.Hey, another Chinese character in Final Fantasy Universe? That’s what I call cultural diversity.

While some Final Fantasy games had the player pick and choose which Eidolons (Powerful creatures that obey the master in battle) they were going to summon, or had specific summoners, in this game one’s character will be attached to a specific summon monster. For example, Lightning’s character can summon ODIN, the great norse God through her horse, and Yun Fang can summon the just as powerful, almighty Bahamut from her 4 legged mech-beast.

Check this out, Snow has Shiva for his summon, so of course it transforms into his motorcycle. Don’t you think that’s a little risque as in a bit too sexy in riding that thing? That’s right! Their vehicles contain the spirit of the Eidolons and transforms into their true forms when called into battle! I wonder Optimus Prime has to say about this.

Revamped is the action based ATB (Active Time Battle) system allowing the player to engage in seamless combat, rather than fiddle through tedious menus and sub menus.

The date has also been set! I hope you’ve been good boys and girls, since the release date is 12.17.2009, just in time for Christmas! I believe this applies to the Japanese version only, as the US version is usually delayed 4-6 months, but if there’s more info, I’ll update you guys!
