There’s not alot of good vampire anime although I’m probably just biased against shoujo stuff. Here’s a list of five of the better vampire anime.

1. I doubt Hellsing needs any introduction. Alucard is some vampire with seemingly infinite hp and has a bunch of other unbalanced skills. The series was okay but the OVAs are just so much better that the series isn’t even worth watching.

2. Blood+ isn’t exactly about vampires. It’s based on the anime movie Blood: The Last Vampire so it has some similar elements. The show has “Chiropterans” which are monsters that live off human blood and usually resemble a bat. Replace the term Chiropterans with vampire and you wouldn’t know the difference.

3.Tsukihime has to do with a seemingly ordinary four-eyed kid named Shiki meeting a vampire princess. This series was better than some people say and one of the better anime adapted visual novels. It has a very unique story and Shiki is one of my favorite characters in any series. The anime may feel incomplete since it shows some scenes that have nothing to do with the main story yet doesn’t elaborate on them.

4. Hitsuji no Uta deals with a normal high school student but the problems he has to face since he has vampiric traits with his descendents being vampires. The art, music and animation is a bit awkward but the story is interesting and unique.

5. Vampire Hunter D. He rides a robot horse and has a talking left hand which is enough reason to watch it. Theres two animated films both based on the original novels. The movies are very good and any anime fan should watch them.
