Last week I wrote about the wonderful world of bento food coloring. This week I’m going to step it up a notch by talking about bentos for the holiday season. I’m not talking about “turkey” or “pumpkin” filled bentos, I’m talking about making bentos that look like a turkey or a pumpkin and are filled with rice.

Now I’m not what you’d call a great ‘cook’ and I’ve never made my own bento (they all have come from a local 7-11 at the train station), but it seems some people turn bento making into a weird art form. One of these people is Pikko over at Adventure in Bento Making. She keeps churning out high quality festive bentos for every season. If you’re at all interested in this weird world of Japanese food as art you might want to check out her blog.

If nothing else it will make you hungry.
