In May 2010, Atlus will give you 3D Dot Game Hero: a game with 3D graphics mixed with old school pixels.
3D Dot Hero looks like an old school game with a 3D twist, and it also plays like one too. Even the music and sound effects are nostalgic to those who enjoyed playing adventure games in the late 1980s to early 1990s. It also has a standard storyline that we’ve heard of many times before:
Long ago, the Kingdom of Dotnia was threatenedby the nefarious Dark King. A hero rose to the challenge and defeated him. The Dark King was sealed away, but not destroyed. Now, the story has faded into legend, but a new evil threatens the kingdom…
Will a new hero appear?
This is one game I wouldn’t mind picking up. It looks simple and fun. It’s also relatively cheap compared to other games that are coming out on the Playstation 3 with a price tag of $39.99 (usually $59.99). Another plus is that Atlus will be the publisher for the North American release. They are known for publishing many Japanese games for a niche audience and have a reputation of satisfying their fans with faithful translations and pre-order goodies.
So, who plans on buying this sweet game?
