One shots are short stories, usually around 30 to 50 pages long. Many series usually begin as a one shot but they’re meant to tell an entire story within a single chapter. These are some one shots worth reading.
1. “Hotel” by Boichi was an incredible read. The story was very unique and the art is great. It’s mostly about how a computer struggles to preserve his father’s legacy for million’s of years. It almost made me want to cry.
2. “13″ by Hideaki Sorachi also stands out. It has a pretty stupid story. There are times when there’s a page that makes you laugh out loud, and the next makes you shed a tear. If you’ve watched/read Gintama, you probably know what I’m talking about.
3. “Blame Academy” features the main character from “Blame” in a high school setting. It would probably make little to no sense for readers who’ve never read Blame but if you have, it’s a hilarious change of pace from the original.
