My top five anime for the decade. It was pretty difficult deciding which anime I liked the most. These are pretty easy to get into and shows some of the best of what anime has to offer. Even people who don’t like anime much should be able to enjoy these because they’re so good. More »

Oh boy were there many! 2009, is by far the worst year for kpop. So many things happened whether they were big or not. In America, scandals can be seen as a popularity increase, and a pretty much carefree issue, but in Korea, it’s something you try to avoid. More »

If someone were to ask me what made my year personally, I’d have to say Ningin. 2009 had it’s share of highs and lows in the world of Asian pop culture and entertainment. Asian artists crossed over, made Hollywood debuts, fought illness and court battles. The best part of 2009 was that we were all present together as a community to experience it all! In summary, this is what happened in 2009 for us. More »

There wasn’t many great anime this year. A lot of them had great starts but turned disappointing later on. Otherwise they felt incomplete. Despite that, there’s still some that are good if you aren’t expecting perfection. More »

I love to read manga. You can say that mangas are my bibles (but don’t worry, I’m not that obssessive). The vast variety of stories and styles can attract almost anyone to read them. So I tried to vary my top manga choices for 2009 and this is what I came up with. More »

As 2009 comes to an end, it is prime time to reflect on a year of heartbreak, love, betrayal, excess, unrequited love and of course “drama.” Thankfully I’m not talking about my own personal life but two of my favorite dramas of the year: Boys Before Flowers and Shining Inheritance. From these, two Korean drama actors emerged as heartthrobs (the bad boys turned good kind): Lee Min Ho (Gu Jun Pyo of BBF) and Lee Seung Gi (Sun Woo Hwan of Shining Inheritance). But who reigns supreme as the Korean Drama King of 2009? More »

I’m constantly changing items on my personal list of Things I Love More than Life Itself. As of now, and courtesy of AnabelStar’s tweets, there are only two things on that list: Lady Gaga and SHINee. Together, as in…SHINee performing Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance.” More »

The list that makes up the Top 10 Cutest Foods of 2009 begs not to be eaten, just adored. More »

When it comes to making strides, this decade was all about Asian pop acts making them in the world of Asian pop music. Aside from sheer talent and devoted fan bases, the biggest driving force and probably the reason why you know about these Asian pop stars is because of well, the Internet. While I didn’t make it on my own list of Top Asian Pop Acts of the Decade, I’m sure you’ll agree wholeheartedly with my choices. And maybe we’ll see me around for the next decade. (Or not.) More »

There were many awesome games that were released this past decade and it was hard for me to choose which ones to put on this list. But I limited myself to games that came from Asia (more specifically Japan) and here is the list that I have come up with. Keep in mind that I have limited access to game consoles, excluding my Playstation 2. So most of the games on this list are from the PS2. More »

Now that the series has ended, I can safely say this was easily the best anime from fall 2009. Darker Than Black had promise but the ending was complete crap. The only other 2 shows I liked, Nyan Koi and Kimi ni Todoke were good but I love Trapeze so much more. Every episode had strong points and none of them were a waste. Some were just better than others but even the weaker episodes were worth watching. The last episode also did a great job of connecting the series together and it’s pretty satisfying now that I finished it. I know I’m going to wish for more later though. I’ll especially miss Irabu’s creepy laughter.

2009 was definitely a year of ups and downs, unfortunately more downs than up. In Japan they were pretty stable, nothing was fantastically up or horribly down. Korea had the worst year in music so far, not just in 2009, but of all time, in which I feel had rivaled America for dramatic turmoil. More »

To tell you the truth, there isn’t much of a difference between the top songs and top albums I chose for the year. It is most likely that the songs that I chose to be the top, are probably the top albums. The most prominent of the albums of 2009 are… More »
