You must be kidding me. There will be another video game-to-film adaptation! You’d think that Hollywood would have learned, right? WRONG. Think again. Of all the movies out there that are horrible, video game film adaptations are the martyr for all horrible films that exist. Just recently, I discovered that King of Fighters, which is one of the longest running fighting game series out there, is becoming a film.

Surprisingly, the film features some big name actors, such Ray Park, who played Darth Maul from Star Wars and Toad from X-men. In this film, he’ll play Rugal Burnstein, alongside with acclaimed Asian actress, Maggie Q who was most recently known as the femme fatale in Die Hard. She’ll be playing Mai Shiranui. What’s bothersome to fans is that, Mai is most famous for outgoing charisma, her curvy body, double G cup breasts and unique, revealing red Ninja uniform. And of course she originates from the land of Japan. Will the passive yet deadly, black uniformed, completely covered, half-Vietnamese, slim as a stick girl suffice? That’s like the opposite! Gee, at least get the hair and costume right.

Who else is wrong? A Caucasian guy is playing the main Japanese lead for Kyo Kusanagi. ::Slaps forehead::

Of all the bad movies out there, fighting game-to-movies suffered the worst of it. Flashbacks of Dead or Alive and Street Fighter both come to mind. I’d say the only game to film without any of the cheesiness was Tomb Raider, and I suspect it was because it was already based off of familiar territory such as Indiana Jones.

I guess actors are desperate for a few bucks nowadays. But enough of my bashing and bantering, I think we get the idea. Watch the trailer below for a couple of laughs but not for a couple of stars.
