When I think about manga that deals with love or dating, shoujo manga, manga directed towards girls is always the first thing I think of. Kimi Ni Todoke deals with a girl named Sawako but other people think her name is Sadako because of her resemblance to the character from “The Ring.” I normally don’t like shoujo manga/anime but this was an exception. The anime had too many bubbles and sparkles and it blinded my eyes but I loved watching Sawako and her reactions to other people. It also has a good story. Nothing that hasn’t been done before but it feels very natural. And the expressions that Sadako makes are great.
