It wouldn’t be Christmas in Japan without KFC dressing up the old ‘Colonel’ in Santa gear. KFC Christmas in Japan is a special time filled with chicken, dinner sets and the occasional trip to the bathroom thanks to an overdose of grease. Gotta love it.

What I find interesting is that while the old ‘Colonel’ has been phased out in the United States (I wonder why…) he seems to be celebrated here in Japan. Dressed up for all sorts of holidays (I have seen him dressed as a samurai) and plastered over everything in sight.

Here is a great story. I’ve been asked no less than 20 times by students of mine in Japan if “Do you have KFC in America?” Yes, my life is pain and sadness.
