They’re getting awards for their melons?! What?! Get your mind out of the gutter, you perverts! The awards is an end of the year show called the MELON awards. Unlike America, it does not have a double meaning.

No surprise, right? While rookie 2NE1 slightly surprised us by receiving the spotlight-capturing M.Net artist of the year award, Girls’ Generation captivated audiences with a grand total of 6 Melon awards. Phew. Few of us readers have even 6 total lifetime achievements, let alone 6 awards in just one night. I think there was a miscount though. I’d give 6 awards alone, one for each pair of legs that I like.

Here are the awards they won:

2009 Artist - Girls’ Generation
2009 Song – Girls’ Generation with ‘Gee’
2009 Odyssey – Girls’ Generation with ‘Gee’
2009 Smart Radio – Girls’ Generation with ‘Gee’
2009 T Mobile Award – Girls’ Generation with ‘Gee’

The final award was for being an overall TOP 10 artist.

TOP 10 Winners:
2NE1, 2PM, 8eight, Davichi, Brown Eyed Girls, So Nyeo Shi Dae, Super Junior, KARA, K Will, G-Dragon

Although TVXQ/DBSK was not listed in the Top 10, they had very remarkable awards. I’m still surprised they weren’t in the top! I told you guys that scandals do NOT help increased sales.
