One of rock acts from Japan that I’ve been particularly fond of is Ellegarden, and although their indefinite hiatus disheartens many listeners of the band (including myself), what’s been born from the ashes is definitely catching my eye.
The former lead vocalist for the Ellegarden outfit, Takeshi Hosomi is catching a lot of buzz surrounding his new band, The Hiatus. Featuring an ensemble of other artists from a variety of other bands including Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, Toe, Neil & Iraiza, and Tokyo Jihen, this band’s well rounded musical compass and extensive performing experience is sure to keep their songs in regular rotation.
Oh, and what’s this? No subtitles required? Hell yes, Takeshi decided to keep the old Ellegarden flair alive with continuing his English (no, not Engrish) lyric writing methods. Be sure to check out the sister article on the other band to be born out of the Ellegarden legacy, Nothing’s Carved in Stone.
Here’s a little bit of an introduction to the Hiatus:
The Hiatus, here’s my dear friend, Reader. Reader, The Hiatus.
