From Rekuru: Love is in the air here at Rekuru with tomorrow’s launch of CrazySingleLife, the last of many sites to join the Mixr family this year. Taking elements of MTV’s Real World and throwing them into a blog setting, as well as adding a dash of dating and a sprinkle of assured heartbreak, and you have CrazySingleLife. In celebration this week, Rekuru is taking a look at dating and love in a handful of articles: More »

Yes, you read right. Time Magazine likes this interesting, Asian movie more than New Moon. Although New Moon earned half a billion dollars, Time Magazine still believed that this Asian movie called Thirst had a better plot and the main character’s acting of emotional changes was just great! From Wirebot:

Growing up I can remember 1, maybe 2, really great games coming out every month. I rarely felt that I was missing much when my parents refused to buy me multiple $50 games a month. Boy, am I lucky I am not growing up in today’s crowded 3 console market or I would only get to play a quarter of the great games that are getting released on a monthly basis. Within the last 2 months, well over 10 A+ games have been released across platforms, the majority of them being cross platform and a couple of them paired with peripherals that escalate the price to over $100 a pop. My question is, how is everyone collecting funds to support their favorite obsession? I’m selling text books, re-selling free curb alerts posted on craigslist, and trading in more games than I should to GameStop. More »

Do you like music and also happen to have a very unhealthy Hello Kitty fetish? If so, then you may want to drop $90 on this worthless piece of Hello Kitty gadget crap. Oh yes, I did go there. More »

From Girlybubble: If I were to describe in words who San-X’s newest character Iiwaken is, you’d either laugh or be jealous…or both. According to what’s been posted on the official San-X site, Iiwaken is a loyal Shiba-Inu dog who spends its days waking up his salary man master or drawing with crayons. Wait a second…Shiba-Inu’s can hold crayons? I bet you’re just as impressed as I am. More »

Rain, once again shows his busy side. He never stops to rest. Amazing. *In Raizo’s voice* Oh Rain, Rain, Rain. (You would get that if you watched the movie and see the scene where he’s locked up and says a girl’s name three times). When do you ever stop? More »

Don’t let anyone fool you by thinking otherwise, Ninginers are not at all like the singer Meat Loaf and his song, “I Would Do Anything For Love.” True, Meat Loaf would do anything for love…except that. Us here at Ningin, we’re willing to do that. And, by that, I mean we’re giving our readers another special to promote the launch of CrazySingleLife, a reality blog about the adventures of dating. This special is called, “The Things Ninginers Will Do For Love,” and will include a week of great blog posts relating to both dating and Asian pop culture. More »

As part of the ongoing preview on CrazySingleLife, we’re going to introduce some of the dating stars before the site launches. Each dater on CSL will have an alias derived from a color. They also have to write two posts before they start dating, an introduction post and a Mr./Mrs. Right post. The introduction post is meant as a description of themselves, but not like height, age, occupation. It’s more a window into their soul and the journey that their heart has been on. The second post is an open letter to the future Mr./Mrs. Right so that he or she will know to come calling on our daters.

The following except is from the introductory letter of Cerulean, one of the two female bloggers for CSL. On Monday, you met Tenne and on Wednesday you will meet Steel. Enjoy! More »

Her name starts with a Y. Look at these people closely. Don’t they look similar to a Wonder Girl? More »

The recent Tiger Woods media frenzy hasn’t been limited to the United States. Asian news agencies have been going crazy in their own ways telling the story of Tigers ‘misdeeds.’ More »

From Rekuru:

Hey, kids! Put down your Doraemon chopsticks and pick up those feet. It’s time to exercise with Mr. Incredible! More »

While I could care less about high fashion (as anyone who has ever seen my collection of well worn t-shirts I still wear from college) other people do care. Most of them women. The Tokyo Hermes store has gone all out with this very arty and interesting video installation. More »

Supercell is a group known for their music done with Vocaloid, or more specifically, Hatsune Miku. They’ve recently done the ending song:“Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari” for the anime series Bakemonogatari. Most of their songs are uploaded on Nicovideo and it’s great. Their songs are so popular that they have a lot of different fans playing their own versions of it.

For anyone interested in their songs, I’d recommend starting with “Black Rock Shooter”, “Melt” and “World is Mine.” There’s a lot more, and countless different variations of each song fan-made and “official”, these are just my favorite ones.

Korea, Japan and Korea DPRK are (arguably) the top 3 soccer teams in the Asian world, and all three have their own shot at victory in South Africa in 2010. More »
