Alas, my very first portable gaming system. Although I’ve been playing games since 1984, I never was fortunate enough back then to get a regular black and white Gameboy, especially not the Neo Geo pocket or Atari Lynx. Don’t know what these things are? If you don’t that’s fine, just keep it to yourself and don’t ask me what Moses was like during his teens. More »

The Sengoku Rance OST has all the music from the game. The only difference is that the some of the songs from the game version has parts missing. The music is really good although some of them are a bit bland. They all fit the game but outside of it, only a few stay good. More »

Japanese Recycling is one of those things you need to experience before you die. It’s both amazing and annoying, and then depressing. If you’re like me (and you totally are) you probably think of Japan as a very clean country where recycling is king. I’ll let you in on something though, it’s a total farce. More »

There are gangs, gangbangers, and their entourage. All are pretty dangerous by societal standards, all should be avoided but none should be feared as much as what I’m about to discuss. More »

The Japanese have finally done it. They’re created a human looking Cylon, and it only costs $220,000. More »

Dok2 (pronounced Dok-ee) is a Korean rapper that’s pretty much taking the Korean rap scene by storm and heck yeah, he’s scary. Psst..between you and me, he threatened me to write this piece. More »

When it comes fashion in the world of Asian pop this year, I’ve only two words: avant garde. We’ve seen it in everyone from 2NE1 to just about every boy band that debuted this year. One can only speculate that this trend for the high-end has much to do with the Internet introducing the masses to the world of high-end fashion and the fact that…Kpop is kind of a big deal. Unfortunately for you and me, avant garde fashion is synonymous with high-end. High-end is synonymous with me spending a sizable amount of time drooling over clothes I cannot afford. Hence my Christmas wish for 2NE1’s wardrobe! More »

It’s Christmas Day and I’ve got much to squeak…squeal about with the results of the Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel pin game. It seems like a lot of people all had the same thing in common on their Christmas Wish lists. Looking at the results, it appears you all wished to win a Chipmunks pin! More »

There is no doubt in our minds that you have all been nice this year. This year for Christmas, we consulted Ningin Claus and all the Ningin Elves to determine just how nice you’ve been. If I could use your Christmas present of flash games from us to you as an niceness indicator, I’d say you’ve all been extremely nice this year. More »

From Rekuru:

There is a certain narrative about teachers running through modern Japan. It seems to begin with the wise and kind-hearted Kinpachi-sensei, who helps his students through the troubles of their young lives. This is turned on its head with the malevolent Kinpatsu-sensei of Battle Royale, who forces his “students” to kill each other. Then you have Great Teacher Onizuka, the thickheaded biker punk with laughable dreams of becoming like Kinpachi-sensei but who nonetheless, through his good heart, helps his students through the troubles of their young lives. Finally, we have Koji Kumeta’s Zetsubou-Sensei (”Mr. Despair”) who, when not trying to kill himself, tries to convince his students that life is pointless. More »

In China a man named Lo Wung taught a few monkeys some basic taekwondo moves only to have them smack it back at him across his head. More »

Son Dam bi is at it again, with her total dedication to festiveness. First off, you’ll need to find a way to keep in touch with all of your friends and relatives. What better way to get connected, than with a new ANYCALL Samsung phone, and I recommend it with AMOLED of course ;). Buyers of its Anycall phones can register on the website for a random drawing for invitations to AMOLED events (including a couple involving Dambi). More »

From Girlybubble: Some girls want plush toy dolls for Christmas. Some, don’t. Me? I’ll take a life-sized Rirakkuma bear, thanks. (Remember, bigger = better.) What’s pictured is most likely a lowly Japanese teenager slaving away to make ends meet and not an actual life-sized plush doll. However, I think it gives us all a good idea of how huge this life-sized Rirakkuma bear should be. For me, at least. More »

Yes, the Empire finally was able to strike back. Child of Empire has seen it all. For the past 3 months they’ve been show monkeys, no different than a traveling circus, sleeping in tents having to pay all of their own promo expenses and food while pulling in only $12 bucks an hour or $100 performing/rehearsing. Is it paying off? Well the record label was finally able to save up some funds to debut the group properly. (God I guess they were they really that poor). More »

The figures are good, VERY good. The latest Final Fantasy game has sold over 1,500,000 units out of 1.8 Million that they shipped in the records that Famitsu reported. This figure is in Japan, and the PS3 alone. (There is no Japanese Xbox version) Hmm I guess they were quick to get the figures out because they didn’t release the one-week figures yet. More »

From Rekuru:

It seems like, come December, Santa runs into all kinds of problems. Whether somebody steals or destroys all the presents, or he breaks his leg, or some other dramatic inconvenience, Christmas just can’t get a break. And while I’m sure there are plenty of good anime and manga characters to step in and save the holiday, there are also a lot you wouldn’t want near it with a fifty foot pole. In part one, I will tell you three of my choices.
