When people step into the ring with the Filipino Fighting Pride, they get themselves beat. So what do they do? They try to scare him out of the fight by messing with his superstitions. Clever, yeah? If you listened real closely to the wind for the past couple of weeks, you’d have noticed a slight rattling in the air–that rattling was Mayweather’s knees when he found out the fight between himself and Pacquiao was coming true. Avast! Out from the rubble of Ellegarden’s passing comes a new band called Nothing’s Carved in Stone, and they’re nothing short of impressive in terms of musical prowess. More »

The age old question will finally be answered. Who would win in a boxing match, man or machine? The answer is surprisingly mundane. More »

It’s been released recently at MangaGamer.com. Unfortunately, not everything was included from the original Japanese version. The music room, a mini game and staff room were removed. The biggest change was that the BGM was also removed so this may discourage people from playing this release and rather wait for an “unofficial” English patch. It’s also pretty funny that it’s listed under “all ages” considering how gory the anime got. More »

Before anyone gets into last minute Christmas shopping mode, this is just a friendly reminder that you’ll need The Daily Mixr. While it doesn’t fight irate holiday shoppers or claim to get your shopping done on time, it does offer you the day’s freshest Mixr stories.

From Swandiary: Korean pop music (Kpop) seriously takes the cake when it comes to random. Widely popular Kpop boy group 2PM recently delivered a Korean music awards performance featuring a vampire scene introduction. Being an actual fan of said Kpop boy group, the performance left me scratching my head a little bit. Or a lot. More »

She’s Festive Just look at the Reindeer and Santa costume. Talking about helping to get into the mood, here. Any time it’s Christmas, she would do anything and everything related to Christmas, as much as possible. It’s obvious that is her favorite holiday! More »

Namie Amuro is featured on the cover and within the latest issue of Glamorous. And what a perfect word for what she looks like in here. She’s placed into a fabulous glow, as it just seems to pop off the page. The theme is an “Art Noveau”and you can see a lot of this style in art museums. Hmm, she kinda reminds me of Tarot cards at the same time! More »

From Rekuru:

Below, for your viewing pleasure, you will find the Spirit Tracks animations as well as a few others they have made with the application. Enjoy. More »

One of rock acts from Japan that I’ve been particularly fond of is Ellegarden, and although their indefinite hiatus disheartens many listeners of the band (including myself), what’s been born from the ashes is definitely catching my eye. More »

From Girlybubble: Ever since a trip to Korea almost two years ago, I’d fallen in love with Korean accessories brand Lovcat. Lovcat has a signature style that’s super feminine and girly in the details — there are hardly any Lovcat wallets that lack the presence of a small heart. As a stickler for details, I am ALL about the Lovcat heart. It’s understated and feminine at the same time. More »

Without their song, there would be no 2PM. In my opinion, this was the official song that got them so much attention. More »

Upon much thought and speculation, it seems blinking is a far more serious problem than we’d anticipated it to be. Sure, I thought this blinking situation could be easily resolved by posting a weekly wrap-up post featuring every story that was published this week, but then I realized something quite epic: Blinking, happens super often. I can’t even tell you how many times I blink a day. The Mixr solution to excessive blinking comes to you in the form of a new daily featured called, The Daily Mixr. Everyday, we’ll bring you all of the top stories of the day across the Mixr Network of sites. More »

From Wirebot:

Finally, SquareEnix has released Final Fantasy VIII onto the PlayStation Network. The original PlayStation One game is available on the PS3 and PSP for $9.99 (a whole heck of a lot cheaper than the eBay prices are going for). I remember playing this game on my PS1, it was a ton of fun, but I don’t understand how people thought Quistis looked good at all haha. I apologize for the side comment.

Other games to arrive on the PSN include More »

Although I’ve been a fan of John Cho since I first laid eyes on him, it wasn’t until about a year ago that I learned that he was the vocalist of Left of Zed, now called Viva La Union. Haunted by the chorus of “I Soviet”, I became determined to see it played live. Unfortunately, almost certainly due to John Cho’s busy schedule, gigs were few and far between, and by the time I finally heard about one, it had already happened. More »

And the ball keep’s a rollin’. K-pop is reaching a peak of its 2009 year bad luck awards, who will come out the winner? Super Junior has been in trouble already, from the stints of Kang In. Joining along with TVXQ is Han Kyung from Super Junior, who filed for provisional disposition of the exclusive contract with SM Entertainment at the Seoul Central District Court. That was a mouthful, geez. More »

My buddies over at Strife.tv are always keeping touch with the biggest and greatest breaking events out there and they’re always quick to show me the most amazing b-boys/b-girls out there. And this time, it’s no different. Today, I introduce to you, Hong-10. More »

From Girlybubble: As of yesterday, this Christmas wish isn’t the most legitimate for me. While Christmas shopping, I thought I’d actually buy myself a really cute phone charm from a local Japanese pop culture novelty store. Turns out, my new phone is not cute phone charm friendly. I shake my fist at you Samsung Eternity! More »

TVXQ, despite all what’s been going on with them still managed to rank no.3 on the Oricon ANNUAL rankings. It’s pretty tough to maintain your rank after one week, let alone one year. It’s also very difficult for a foreigner to grace the top 10 in Japan, a record which was only broken by BoA who ranked no.1 on Oricon in 2002. More »
