From Girlybubble: A New Year’s resolution of mine for 2010 is to write more letters. As in, the physical kind, not the hit “send” kind. This resolution was not only made out of novelty or to revive a dying art but for a more personal reason. More »

Jessica Jung’s Legally Blonde (Or Ginger) theatrical was quite a success, so for Xiah Junsu to follow along is a no-brainer. And look at the pictures! I had to be told it was him. I was like who’s the new white pirate? Is this a play for Pirates of the Caribbean? Oops, it’s Xiah from TVXQ! Doh, sorry! More »

From Wirebot:
Ask a Western gamer what they think of Visual Novels and chances are you’re just going to get a confused glance. “Visual novels? What the hell are they?” some will say. “You mean Japanese porn games, right?” others will reply. The sad fact of the matter is that Visual Novels, as a gaming genre, simply doesn’t exist as something viable outside Japan.
Well, that’s not entirely true. More »

Epik High was part of my first time experience of Korean music. It was a magical moment. The deep lyrics mixed with the catchy beats immediately caught my attention and I fell in love for the first time. So, when I learned that Epik High had to take a 2 year hiatus due to DJ Tukutz’s mandatory military service, I was literally on the verge of crying. More »

If you spend a bit of time in Japan, someone will inevitably ask you, “What is your blood type?” This will come out of the blue, during a completely non-medical conversation, and will make you feel very very awkward for not knowing. The Japanese are not asking because they want to harvest your blood for weird experiments, but because in Japan, your blood type determines your personality type. More »

The epic drama IRIS finally takes a break. I’m just glad they continued the film, despite their goal of only 20 episodes. More »

The Japanese have done it again.

This year had a lot of good anime movies and more are coming out the next. The sad part is that I can’t watch most of them. I still have to wait on the DVDs since they are only shown in theaters. The movies I’m waiting on are the second parts of Evangelion and Gurren Lagann, One Piece:Strong World and Summer Wars. More »

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. Lots of pretty cool moments this year on Ningin. Hmm, I’m thinking we should do an End of the Year special just to recap everything. If you recall, we did one for 2008. This year, the End of the Year special will be more epic! But I’m getting ahead of myself. We still have a few more days before Christmas. Jinra and the Ningin Bloggers have been really nice this year and hopefully Santa will grant them everything they asked for in their 12 Days of Christmas Special. Though, Jinra already has lots of sexy, hot Asian men surrounding her on a regular basis. I guess you can never have enough of those. Since all Ningin users have been really good this year, we have something special in mind for all of you! It’ll be unveiled in a few days or so. I hope you guys like games! More »

Big plays a major theme in my life. I like to dream big, carry big purses, wear big cocktail rings and over-sized sunglasses. It’s no surprise that for Christmas this year, one of my wishes (I wish big too) is for a surplus of sexy, hot Asian male celebrities under the mistletoe. I’m not talking a simple list of the hottest Asian celebrity dudes ever. I’m talking surplus, as in I might need to take periodic oxygen breaks every now and then. Or surplus, as in…you’re considered famous if you’re a hot Asian male and you’re under the mistletoe with me. More »

I have nothing else to wish for this Christmas and I felt my heart thumping when I saw pictures of the life size Gundam in Japan. And since I love gundam so much, why not. It’d be kinda useless but I want one anyways. It looks like it has a lot of space inside so maybe it could make a nice room. Or some sort of tree house. I heard that the head can move too. Sounds like a really cool gimmick. More »

In the history of film, there have been many great sequels, prequels and now,Squeakquels. Specifically, the upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel. Now, you might be wondering if the Chipmunks are Asian or what connection they have to Asian pop culture and Ningin. It might hurt some of you to know this but, chipmunks…not necessarily Asian. What’s epic for us is that the Chipmunks Squeakquel movie is teen singing sensation Charice Pempengco’s Hollywood debut. How could we not have a pin game for it? More »

Awhile back I wrote about some USB gloves and how silly they sounded. After reading about some other fun filled Japanese USB gadgets, those gloves actually look quite tame. Useful even. I present to you a few very odd things you should never buy. More »
