It wouldn’t be Christmas without sharing a bit of Domo Kun love. Especially to my good friends and readers at Ningin. I present to you some very cute photos of the Christmas Domokun Collection. More »

Pets are expensive and they tend to poop everywhere. Why deal with real pets, when soon you will be able to care for a realistic virtual pet? Forget about Fluffy - just get an EyePet! This adorable monkey/bush baby critter (coming for PS3 in 2010) is just like a real pet, minus the hassle. He reacts to your every move (as long as you’re within reach of the PS3 Eye) and you’ll only need to pay a one-time fee. More »

It wouldn’t be Christmas in Japan without KFC dressing up the old ‘Colonel’ in Santa gear. KFC Christmas in Japan is a special time filled with chicken, dinner sets and the occasional trip to the bathroom thanks to an overdose of grease. Gotta love it. More »

We’ve all seen it. Whether you’re Asian, White, Black, Hispanic, Orange (really really tan people)–we’ve ALL seen it. The stare. The Asian stare. Can you feel it? More »

Although BoA has been out of the media for a little, she still is on top of her game. BoA lands this week on Oricon charts at the no. 3 spot, which isn’t bad at all. (She peaked at No.2 for a day) The ranking puts her just behind with W-inds, whom she’s friendly rivals with in Japan. Every year BoA has met with W-inds at Kohaku and they always exchange friendly greetings, while the group would mention BoA in their blogs. This puts BoA at 25,000+ sales on the week. It’s also very rare that W-inds has done well enough to surpass even BoA. More »

Haha made you look! 2NE1 was awarded best artist by MNET. 2NE1 is new this year and definitely I’d thought they only win the “Rookie of the Year” award. But alas, they got the whole shebang. More »

Final Fantasy XIII is not the only highly anticipated game coming from Square Enix in a few months. The newest installment to the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Birth By Sleep, is almost out in Japan and will soon have a release in the United States as hinted by Jesse McCartney’s Twitter about the dub. From Rekuru: What if a made-up book of prophecies you wrote with some friends as a child suddenly started becoming a reality twenty years later? Even worse, what if these prophecies spoke of the end of the world? While it sounds crazy, that’s just the premise for the film 20th Century Boys 1: Beginning of the End, the first chapter in a planned trilogy. So how does this first film fare? Read on. More »

Wendy’s has never had that much of a stronghold in Japan (those would be KFC and McD), but it was always fun finding one of the 71 locations scattered around Japan. Enjoying the big fries. Familiar foods. Frosties. Pure pleasure. More »

Korean entertainment has been noted as the cleanest, purest that one could fathom, in which sins and scandals are typically far and few between. It’s the end for an artist if they even imagined a scandal, let alone fulfill it. Lately, the entire Korean entertainment world has been a complete trainwreck. There has been no shortage of mayhem, and I’m tired just writing it out. More »

There are no people like Filipino people. In all my life I simply have never met a group more accepting, easy-going, and just plain fun, than Filipinos. Although I haven’t yet dated a Filipino guy, I’ve had a soft spot for pinoys for a long time now, and there will definitely always be a special place in my heart for Filipino men. More »

From Wirebot: Who would have thought, but Nintendo characters have been giving us great “exit lines” for years! In the game context they might not seem to fit the situation, but if you just want to get out of there and don’t necessarily mind hurting the person’s feelings, try out one of these classic lines: More »

The Wonder Girls have been ever present in American media, so they did open up at Jingle Ball 2009. It’s not the first time a K-pop artist has debuted at Jingle ball, because just last year, BoA was at Jingle Ball in Anaheim, CA. More »

From Rekuru: Are you worried that your earphones are lackluster and dreary? Do you wish your headset would get off the couch and express itself more? Now your worries can slip away as easily as a cartoon character on a banana peel! Indeed, bananas, Mickey Mouse, and sushi seem to be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to eccentric earphones. Popping up all over the market are unique and sometimes downright silly novelty gear for your music-listening arsenal. More »

Whether or not you blame Yoko Ono (and all of Japan) for breaking up the Beatles, you have to be a bit miffed that she put the John Lennon museum in Tokyo. It makes as much sense as getting Hello Kitty tattooed on your arm. To make matters worse the museum is closing down in October 2010, so you’d better hurry if you want to see it. More »

With the release of CrazySingleLife, we find ourselves contemplating new beginnings and the possibilities of finding our special someone. On top of that, the arrival of the Christmas season has turned all of our cold, video game loving, hearts into big, pure, fuzzy, warm, gift giving, pleasure centers of kindness and love. But the holidays aren’t so great for everyone and like the famous Grinch, there are a handful of video game characters that have hearts three sizes too small this year. Hop aboard the love train as we take a tour to five different destinations that house five different video game characters, each one of them doomed to a blue holiday, alone. More »

Japan loves Johnny Depp. A lot. He’s their ideal western man. I think its because Japan doesn’t at all see his weird side. That being said he does do one darn fine interview on Japanese television. Though Johnny probably does get how weird Japanese TV is… More »

From Girlybubble: I feel like it’s slowly becoming my duty to inform people of the cute things they shouldn’t be eating because some sort of poisoning might result. Take Japan’s latest Docomo Q-pot Melting Chocolate phone. If the Docomo Q-pot phones had (cute chocolate) feet, it’d kick the LG Chocolate in the ass. It literally looks like a bar of chocolate! Although Q-pot is best known for its food-inspired accessories, you can’t actually eat them — the human digestive system isn’t capable of digesting. More »

I absolutely love to read. I read everywhere I go- when I’m riding the bus, when I’m in class (though I’m not suppose to), when I’m cooking (which sometimes leads to disastrous results), when I’m fantasizing about kissing Daniel Henney under the stars- just name a place and I’ll read there. Do you know what kind of book I like to read the most? Manga of course! Mangas are like picture books ranging all ages and I wish I had a library full of them. More »
