From Wirebot:

Relationships are a common theme throughout life, no matter good nor bad, and in my view you have a relationship with basically everyone in this world (even if it’s the “I don’t know who that is” kind). Relationships also share common ground when it comes to video games, and not only are there simple relationships between characters in games, but some games are totally revolved around that relationship. Not all games have already pre-existing relationships though, and often times people have to work hard to get that ideal girl/boy in the video game. Here are some pretty famous video game relationships that everyone should know about! And if you don’t, well, here’s your chance to know about ‘em! More »

Dear Santa Claus: I know I haven’t written you in the last two decades of my life, but there’s just a few things I need to say to you. The first thing is, Ningin has been incredibly nice this year. Almost saint-like, in fact. Second, we’ve been so nice that we put together one big Ningin Christmas Wish List and turned it into The 12 Days of Christmas Special. From now until Christmas Day, we’ll reveal one wish off of our Christmas Wish List. Santa, I really think every wish on this list deserves to come true. More »

When I think about manga that deals with love or dating, shoujo manga, manga directed towards girls is always the first thing I think of. Kimi Ni Todoke deals with a girl named Sawako but other people think her name is Sadako because of her resemblance to the character from “The Ring.” More »

It’s true, Christmas did arrive earlier than usual this year with the Mixr Holiday Rewards giveaway of the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Recently, we’ve decided that the early arrival of Christmas just isn’t enough for our beloved users. In light of that decision, Mixr is officially extending the Mixr Holiday Rewards deadline to Dec. 31. That’s right, you now have more time to enter to win a Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360! More »

Dating: The infamous “D” word that has a tendency to eat away at the best of us.

Sure, sometimes love can be a little tough, but as soon as your significant other starts talking about shipping out to stop an alien invasion, or talking about rescuing the princess you can be sure of two things: You’re either dating someone delusional, or a video game character. Here a 5 tell tale signs to look for. More »

There is manga and anime which makes me want to go out and fix everything wrong with the world. I quickly lose motivation but they are still great and defines how to be a man. More »

I kind of detest Hello Kitty. I really want to buy up as much Hello Kitty gear as possible and burn it all to the ground. Only in doing so I would just be giving the company more money (I never understood record burnings either). The sad irony. More »

This past week was one of the craziest we’ve ever had. A big part of the reason why is because of CrazySingleLife, our new dating reality site that launched a few days ago. You’ll find that it’s not like any other dating site. CrazySingleLife is about sharing stories and experiences and helping people feel ok about being single and lost about love. Who knows, it just might help you the next time you go on a date. Then, there was the Mixr Holiday party which can be best summed up as this: unlimited Grey Goose vodka and karaoke. It was an unforgettable crazy night! Can I just tell you, we have so many good singers here. Be on the look out for a Jinra CD cause she’s flat out amazing! More »

There can never be enough traps. Every series can always benefit from a good trap or two. There’s even h-games that let you play as one. Sneaking them into an all girls school is a pretty common theme. More »

Thanks to Red Spade Entertainment and Ningin, I had my chance of going to the Sundown Seoul’d Out Festival’s press conference in Singapore. It was held at the Marina Mandarin Hotel’s function room Dec. 11. Artists that the press were up close and personal with include F.T. Island, Brown Eyed Girls, T-Max, Mario and Lee Ji Su. More »

From Rekuru:

Okay, I admit to being a huge nerd during the first wave of anime fandom. Granted I can’t claim, with any authority, not to still be a huge nerd; but if you share my unfortunate heritage, perhaps you remember something we used to do called shipping. This involved latching onto a pair in our favorite anime who exhibited unresolved romantic tension (if even that) and posting endlessly on message boards, for example, “TaiXSoraFTW!!!!” Sometimes we’d even create a portmanteau of their names, as in Taiora. Well, the fact remains that some of those were pretty fine couples, and here are my picks for the ones I most regret never became official. More »

From Rekuru: Let’s face it, everyone needs some love in their life. While the Beatles claim all you need is love, I won’t go as far as to agree but I will say it’s a pretty big deal. With that in mind, I’ve mustered up my inner matchmaker and have compiled a list of japanese icons that would make for quite the fetching couple. More »

From Rekuru:

This week marks the launch of CrazySingleLife, a reality blog like no other. So all week here at Rekuru, we’re looking at that silly thing called love. I thought long and hard about what to write about for this week’s installment of Anime You Should See Before You Die and among the teen-angst and high school hijinx love stories, I settled on this. Although perhaps settled is a poor choice of words as Escaflowne is more than fitting for this week, with a deep and involving story as well as enough mech-battling and sword fighting to tide over action fans and shōjo devotees alike. From Rekuru:

Representing Japan in the popular girl with a guitar category, folk-rocker and bokukko Saori Atsumi penned my favorite J-Pop love song, Mou Sukoshi (”A Little More”). A delicate, sweet but strangely haunting melody, the lyrics tread that delicate balance between teenaged crush and deepening adult relationship. More »
