Congratulations to Ningin again for the upset win over Wirebot in the inaugural MLG tournament. So far I like what I’m seeing with Mixr League Gaming. There has been many a tearful eye, much blood was spilled, and we even had a couple of babies exchanged hands. Yes, all this makes for a bright MLG future and something that we’re going to greatly expand. Pretty soon, we’re going to have users form their own teams and play for pins. prizes, and other glories in the MLG Ladders. Still lots of testing that needs to be done, but we’re getting there!

As of this writing there’s 128 flash games in our games section. However, only 26 out of those are tournament ready. Here’s a complete tournament list.

Tournament #2 has Ningin taking on BlitzNation, Rekuru, and ZiggyTek (aka BlitzKuTek). It’s again a best of seven match and we’re increasing the number of participants to 7 people. Here are the games for this round:

Heron: Steam Machine - Just added it recently and it jumped to my list of favorite games. Wow is this a well made game. It starts a bit slow which innocently lulls you into a relaxed state but it gets intense really quickly when everything is about to explode. I feel like an engineer when I play this.

Armored Ashura 2 - You’re classic side-scrolling shooter. It’s also very polished for a flash game. And it’s HARD! There’s only two levels, but even with three continues, you’re going to have trouble getting to the end!

Gingerbread Circus - If you’re a sadistic person, this game is made for you! The second shooter in this round, Gingerbread Circus really test your hand-mouse coordination. Fair warning, this game has a lot of gingerbread cookie violence.

Karate Monkey - The premise of this game is simple, hit four keys up, down, left,and right. The hard part is doing it consistently over a long time. Sometimes though, it’s quite fun to mess up intentionally to kick the crap out of the instructor. Good game to take out your frustrations.

Word Blix - Gaming isn’t only about twitch-finger skills. You have to be sharp and aware of your surroundings. This game doesn’t require any of that, just really fast word recognition. For that reason, I found it quite hard for me to spell out anything more than three letters. Good thing I’m not playing this round!

Pushori - We lacked a puzzle game last round so we’re going to add two this round. This is an interesting puzzle game that’s different from all those other match 3 puzzle flash games out there. The premise, match two shapes together to make them disappear, is easy enough, but not really.

HeadSpin: Storybook - Everyone needs to play this game once. It’s just so pretty. Like the others it starts slow but if you have no idea what you’re doing, you won’t make it far - much like life!
