You know what grinds my gears? When a fighter tries to dictate what the medical program for steroid screening process is gonna be. It peeves Pacquiao too, so instead of dealing with Mayweather’s nonsense, he’s shifting his focus to another fighter. Another fighter to add to his to-do list. Joshua Clottey.

After so much buzz about the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight being a done deal, it seems as if the fight is losing steam and is about to fizzle out fairly soon. In a previous post about this issue, I mentioned that Pacquiao refused to have his blood drawn so soon before a fight (as soon as one day prior to the fight), but Mayweather insisted and kept egging Pacquiao on to get it done.

For years, the Nevada Commission has been drug testing and steroid screening fighters prior to their fights without a hitch–it’s a process that has been hailed and accepted far and wide as one of the most proper systems of drug screening available. They know what they’re doing, but Mayweather seems to think that he knows more. I’d agree with Mayweather more if the current method the Nevada Commission employs is severely flawed; but it’s not. Mayweather is just trying to spook the Pacman out of the fight, because he’s spooked himself for having to fight the Pacman in the first place (I’m not biased at all, really.)

In any case, although the fight seems to have been called off, there’s still a little bit of wiggle room left. If Mayweather and Pacquiao pull themselves together and come to the table to talk things out, then the fight may still be able to go on, but only time will tell…
