When we asked you what your New Year’s resolutions were for 2010, we paid attention and came up with a list of community resolutions for 2010. Sometimes all we need is a little inspiration to get us going in achieving the goal of meeting New Year’s resolutions. The Ningin community is one big inspiration to me so I figured it’d be a crime to not share our resolutions!

“For this year, I’m resolving to cut my Sriracha consumption by 33%.” - Chris Le

“My New Year’s resolutions are to keep my room clean for more than a week’s time and to save money.” - Lillian Tran

“To continue Ningin’s MLG Tournament winning streak. And to try to attempt a Beyonce body.” - Me

“To become an owner of a cute, fuzzy pet.” - Danny Truong

“To do better in school and to try and meet Girls’ Generation…again.” - Eusene Lee

“New Year’s resolution? To eat less popcorn from the theater. It’s sooo good but sooo bad.” - TammyBlock

“My resolution is to…blog more.” - AlexaNguyen

“My New Year’s resolution is to develop a more unique and more colorful clothing style ^_^.” - AnabelStars

“My resolution for ‘2010’ is to develop a new skill/talent.” - ludachris714

“New Year’s resolution: To win a Ningin weekly prize. That also coincides with not being lazy.” - conkwe

Lol phew.. I was a bit worried on what the new prerequisites were to become a boyfriend to someone this year in 2010...Thanks for the new prereqs.

I mean surely I could fly a girl around MY OWN Island (reference Boys Over Flowers) While letting her use a $25,000 dress just for one date.. You know and then take her on evening dinner that night at a 5 star restaurant, and all while having a fireworks show that creates a HUGE heart with a plane that says “Saranghae” just at the right moment while we kiss under a blue moon.

What, a contract marriage isn’t the way to go?

Don’t worry, K-drama always get me thinking of that perfect guy too XD
Why can’t guys be like that? lol XD

Because they’re not programmed the same, haha

Hmm Pasta, is it any good? I like pasta, but is Pasta the drama good? XD

Pasta is makin me hungry. I might watch it~

I feel the same way as you, I’m also trying to find new music to listen to, in different languages and different genres. I wish you good luck in your quest ;3

You’re absolutely right about Korean rockbands, I wish I could find one, it must be really interesting and fun to listen to ~ (as long as it’s not close to metal, since I’m not fond of that genre… but hey, that’s my opinion =3)

yup i’m also looking for music in other languages, as for rock, i’m eagerly awaiting C.N.Blue (Burning teaser) as i think they might be what i was wishing FTIsland would be.

here’s a few artists you might or might not know:

chinese:
F.I.R. (rock/pop)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqNZYLZAD88

korean:
Happy Face (rap/rock)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc776LKaSos

Japanese:
OneOkRock (rock)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shBEnmvIppo

Emyli(very underrated imo, oh and she has spanish version of a song)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9cE5fOXwqk

Thai:
Waii (pop)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV8TWOyiqKE

Spanish:
Allison (rock)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiW6I-zwDOc

I’ll edit with more i think of

Chinese/Taiwanese: Fahrenheit (popular boy band), Jolin Tsai, SHE, (although...these that I mentioned are very mainstream and not that great).

Japanese: Ikimonogakari, Angela Aki (looks like a Japanese Tina Fey), Aqua Timez, Abingdon Boys School, GReeeeN, Miho Fukuhara, Yoshida Brothers

Colombian: Juanes

Spanish: David Bisbal

Korean: The Trax, Nemesis. those are the only 2 Krock bands I know of. I recommend both of them too :D

I, too, want to start listening to different music, mainly Thai and Vietnamese. I think its easiest when listening to a different country’s music to start with the most mainstream stuff and work your way into the more indie/underground/very talented people kind of songs. thats what I did when I began listening to Japanese and Korean music.

yes pretty please have a limit in the autotune department for 2010 lol. and thanks for the plugin link :D i needed to find me some new ones

Definitely agree. Less autotune. It sounds too generic.

New Year’s Resolution proposal: No Autotune in 2010- I agree!

My New Year’s Music Resolution-From China, Khalil Fong is a good artist to start with.

Kdrama Resolution #3: Eat more/watch more Pasta!- I have not been up on my kDramas like I should.

Ningin’s New Year’s Resolutions for 2010- I don’t make them because I never get it done.

Kdrama Resolution No. 2: Drive cautiously, try not to lose memory-Again, I need to catch up on my Korean Dramas.

Top 5 New Year’s Resolutions G-Dragon should consider-I definitely agree with everything in this article.

Kdrama Resolution No. 1: To get a grip of reality- I guess this is the plus side to being swamped with homework. XD

I could help you out Lillian with Filipino music. I will warn you now, it’s pretty cheesy in the ballad section and might be hard to get into since they rely more on voice and lyrics than entertainment (catchy songs/melody, dancing, and all that mainstream stuff to suck you in). But their alternative rock bands are good. Also, a lot of them are fluent in english so they have english songs you could listen to. Here’s a few artists/bands (mainly mainstream to get you into them):

Lea Salonga: You most likely know her by her singing voice for Jasmine and Mulan in the Disney movies
Sarah Geronimo: Pop star with the vocal chords. She got signed after winning a singing competition (similar to American Idol).
Regine Velasquez
Rachelle Ann Go
Nina Girado
Rico Blanco: He’s also in the band Rivermaya.
Hale
Callalily
Cueshe
6 Cycle Mind

Again, this is a really small list. There’s tons more Filipino music out there to be discovered. Hope this helps.

thanks for the recommendations conkwe!
