A new crab species (which looks awfully a lot like a strawberry) was found by professor Ho Ping-ho, a marine biologist who was researching the impact of an oil spill on the beaches of Kenting National Park in Taiwan when he came across the fruity animals.
There were two of them on the beach, one dead and the other struggling to stay alive. Both of them were female and are currently being studied at the National Taiwan Ocean University. Professor Ho Ping-ho will be writing an essay on the new species.
What a cute looking crab. I wonder if it tastes sweet… Now that I look at it a bit more, the crab reminds me more of a polka dotted dress. Just smack a little red bow on its head and its ready to go out.
What do you think they’ll name the species? I’m not that original and the only name that pops into my head is strawberry crabs (I would say polka dotted crab but that’s even more unoriginal).

Strawberry crabs! Awww it does look cute. That’s pretty cool. And a reminder that we barely know anything about the world we live in.
