Daesung of the five member pop group, Big Bang, has just released his newest single entitled “Cotton Candy.” It is a pop/R&B song that precedes the Big Bang concert that is taking place in a matter of days. Keep reading to see what I thought of this sugary song.

So many of you may have gotten the hint by now that I’m not the nicest of music critics. It takes a lot to really move me when it comes to music and although this song, in my opinion, was not one of the best songs that I’ve ever heard, I will say that it is indeed a quality song. Breaking from all the auto-tune and happy go lucky pop of today’s Korean music scene, Cotton Candy slows it down a notch and gives a very laid back feel. Daesung is a very strong singer, and although he does not show any particularly impressive vocal skill in the song, he is very consistent in both pitch and tone. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to sit back with a frozen drink and enjoy the view of the ocean (my dorm room).
