No, I am not talking about me. I am talking about the ultimate Asian diva Faye Wong. Since 2004, Faye has taken a break from her highly successful singing career to focus on her family. But it’s announced that she will stage her comeback concert this Fall at the World Expo Performing Arts Center in Shanghai.

Apparently, Faye is still very high in demand despite her five years’ absence from the Asian music scene. She is scheduled to perform five nights in Shanghai and five nights in Beijing and will be paid somewhere in the range of $650,000 - $950,000 USD to perform a night. Because of this high performance fee, it will cost her fans about $145 USD per ticket. But hey, she is definitely worth the price. I would pay that ticket price plus an airticket to Shanghai to see her perform live.  This is what a Faye-natics like me would do.

Faye had no intention of returning to the music scene when she went on her hiatus five year ago. Rumor has it that almost half of her retirement funds are gone (thanks to her useless hubby) so she has no choice but to come out of her retirement to make some money. Her management is helping her stage her comeback carefully. Last year, she was paid a lot of dough to star in a shampoo commercial in China. She recently recorded the theme song for the historical biopic “Confucius” starring Chow Yun Fat. She is also expected to perform at the Spring Festival Gala hosted by China Central Television on February 13, the eve of lunar New Year.

So there is no denying, the diva is back! I can already hear the scream of joy from Asian gay men around the world. Bitches can barely contain their excitement.
