Now that the wonderful Tokyo Gundam is gone the only giant robot to represent Japan in the “Asian Giant Robot Statue Cold War” is the massive Gigantor statue sitting in Kobe.

The statue has attracted more than one million visitors (and soon me) since it opened three months ago. It was built in an area that was badly damaged during the 1995 Earthquake, and the statue is kin of the ‘icing on the cake’ for showing that the city has recovered.

I still miss the Gundam though…
