Japan goes through a lot of cell phones. Seeing how everyone over the age of 8 has at least one cell phone, I can make a complete off the top of my head statistic that there are over 100 million cell phones being used in Japan right now. Most of them will be thrown away and replaced every two years. That’s a lot of trash.

How better to deal with that then by making a fun animated PSA geared towards kids! Featuring the music of virtual pop idol (and heart throb) Hatsune Miku.

After watching that video, are you more thrilled than ever to recycle something? I’m tempted to recycle my iPhone right now….

Cell phones really need to be recycled and I hope this commercial will make a difference (probably small though).
