My initial thoughts of this image of the 2PM boys holding signs that say, “Kiss Me” were along the lines of, “YES, PLEASE OMG. PLEASE CAN I? SIGN ME UP!” The image is an advertisement for a Korean stationery store’s promotional event in which 12 lucky fans receive a “surprise” gift from 2PM by leaving a comments on this site as a means of contest entry. 2PM has given away free hugs before, what’s to stop them from the “surprise” gift being free kisses? You may find this hard to believe, but at one point in time, your favorite celebrities started out as little humans. I think the correct term for that is children. To balance the universe in terms of cuteness, some would-be Chinese celebrity children were cuter than others before they became famous stars. It’s only fair, right? See for yourself. More »

The year 1984, a long time ago in a galaxy far away, when a baby T-rex used to guard my backyard (RIP Dino), I had thought there was no way for anyone to come close to the theme song in the legendary film, the Neverending Story. What… you space monkeys are too young to have seen it? Preposterous!! Fast forward to the year 2000, Squaresoft released Final Fantasy IX. (Which is still today in the top 20 RPGs of all time.) Ok, History lesson is over. More »

From Swandiary: We have yet another Korean pop (Kpop) boy band that’s decided to adapt a vampire image to sell their music to the Korean pop lovin’ masses. This particular boy band calls themselves U-Kiss, but just one glance at a picture of themselves donning the new image and you’d think they were actually called U-Suck. Like in a vampire way, not in a throw tomatoes at them and call them names way. More »

Last month Ningin, Wirebot and Rekuru held aNinja Assassin poster giveaway that caught the attention of many ninjas. That giveaway has recently ended and as part of my head ninja duties, I must honor the lucky ninjas that have entered and won this giveaway with great stealth. More »

I had no idea what to expect from Ookamikakushi, but it was incredibly boring and made me uncomfortable. The main character is some glasses guy who looks like a girl. Most of the first episode was about how everyone loves the glasses guy so much. I don’t remember his name but he is the only character with glasses besides his dad and some other character in the background. Aside from the first and last few minutes, everyone is always blushing and almost everything about the show felt generic. A lot of anime can fall under this description but it feels like such a waste when the design for some of the costumes look so cool. The last couple of minutes made me interested enough to see if it gets better though.

Sam Tsui, the same man who brought you last year’s sensational Michael Jackson medley Youtube video, is back in action with an amazing acoustic Lady Gaga medley that’s currently 1+ million hits strong. I like to say that anyone who pays homage to Lady Gaga is good in my book, but I’m not sure if I can say that much about Sam Tsui. He takes good to a whole other level! More »

2008 had autotune up the American pie holes with T-Pain, and come 2009 it was forced up the yin yang for all Kpop. Yes, I’m looking at you, G-Dragon! (You’ve got wayyy too many Autotune tracks!) I understand that some songs benefit greatly and listeners marvel with wonder. But after awhile, you come to realize that it’s getting quite old and then there’s a thousand other ways to add effects with vocals without using autotune or melodyne. All songs in 2009 on the radio started to sound exactly the same, and they still do! More »

Given all the excitement surrounding the MLG and new games feature on Ningin, we’ve decided to continue the excitement with a ladder. Not the kind that’ll give you bad luck if you walk under it — we mean ladder as in, a gaming ladder. The MLG Ladder Tournament, if you will. Starting Weds., Jan. 20, we’ll be kicking off a series of games to be played by four teams of both Mixr staff and users like yourself! More »

It seems as if there have been major budget cuts to the International Pop Song Names Department, or someone was just sleeping on the job. Currently there are now two pop songs by the same name of Tik Tok; one by American top 40 artist Ke$ha and Kpop boy group 2PM. While it’s a little unfair for me to be asking which song is hotter since 2PM just debuted their Tik Tok song, I’m still curious. Between 2PM and Ke$ha who has the hotter song? More »

I absolutely love to listen to music. Especially if it’s foreign. However the majority of my music library consists of Japanese, Korean or American music. I would like to change that this year by trying out different types of genres and languages. More »

From Rekuru: With a new decade upon us, I decided it better time than any to look to the future and see what it holds for the land of the rising sun. Some like to look at what tomorrow or the next year will bring. I, on the other hand, like to look to the far future much like a certain late night talk show host. So, without further ado, I think it’s time we look into the future. That’s right, all the way to the year 3000… More »

There’s no hope for me whatsoever. This Awesome Blog Post Overload Syndrome (ABPOS) is deeming itself to be a chronic condition. I’m having a really hard time keeping in awesome blog posts — they just keep coming out. I tried herbal tea and it still doesn’t help my situation. My doctor says that the only relief I can receive right now is if you take a moment to read the awesome blog posts that came out last week. More »

I don’t know how I never knew about this, but there’s going to be a movie about the first season of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. And it’s not going to be a simple rehash either. I can’t wait for my loli version of DBZ! I don’t even really remember the story from the first season. I just remember the kamehamehas, spirit bombs and heat seeking lasers that were obviously stolen from Piccolo. And while the psp game doesn’t look like anything special, it’s still Nanoha. I’m definitely going to want to play it. I’m imagining DBZ Budokai gameplay and blowing up planets. All I need now is a shmup game with Nanoha.
