Along with Hidamari Sketch x365, Asatte no Houkou and Petite Cossette, Gintama has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks. The only one I really care about is Gintama though. Apparently it’s going to be $40 for Collection 1 which has a run time of 325 minutes. More »

Yet another exciting week has passed us! Of the most notable things to happen was the epic kick off of Mixr League Gaming Season I’s first round. This season is quite epic with not two, but four teams involved! So far it’s looking like Team Ningin may take a backseat for this round. Personally, as team captain, this has me stressed. Usually when I’m stressed, laughter is my best remedy. Speaking of laughter, we were able to interview an expert on laughter — comedian Steve Byrne! More »

I’ve been to Las Vegas enough times, but not enough to be called a saint. John Cho is starring in Saint John of Las Vegas, a film coming out Friday, Jan. 29. As big John Cho fans, it’s only fitting that we dedicate this week’s pin game to him. Saint John of Las Vegas is a movie that chronicles the subtle, life-changing journey of a former Vegas blackjack player, who, as a result of circumstance and finds himself back in Sin City. John Cho will star alongside Steve Buscemi and Sarah Silverman as Smitty, the Human Torch. Human torch huh? Hopefully this indie film will be a hot one! More »

From Rekuru:

It’s hard to believe that Colonel Sanders has been present in Japan for 40 years now, but that’s exactly how long it’s been. To celebrate, KFC has not only appointed an ambassador for the occasion, but will be running some food specials as well.

From Rekuru:

So up until now, I’ve been writing about Akira Kurosawa films I had already seen; only now have I taken advantage of the riches of the Film Forum going on now in New York and seen for the first time Kurosawa’s High and Low (1963). I do encourage everyone living in striking distance of New York to get out and attend this thing; it’s a great opportunity. As for High and Low itself, I strongly recommend it–perhaps not on a level with Rashomon and Ran, but at the same time, it presents a side of Kurosawa you don’t get from his best known films. In this video Morning Musume’s Eri Kamei and Risa Niigaki try to make crazy object throws that require tens or hundreds of takes to perfect them. I’m sure you have all seen something crazy amazing like this — kind of when you throw a basketball at the hoop without looking, and it goes in or when someone shoots the ball across the football field, and a goal is made. What do you get when you stick Speed, bombs, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock together? Hint: It’s not the movie Speed. Give up? It’s this week’s pin challenge: Click the Bombs! More »

To earn a really cool Naruto and/or Kakashi pin, last week’s Ninja Cubes pin challenge required that you score 2,500+ points. In addition, those in the top three won themselves a spiffy Kakashi pin. Everyone give it up for last week’s winners: More »

T-ara, unlike a lot of artists who fight their “adults only” rating in South Korean standards, (For example: HyunA remaking her MV) doesn’t mind being the sexiest group in Korea. With their sex kitten/cocktail waitress look in Bo Beep Bo Beep, they redefined sexy in this new photo shoot for Arena magazine. Who minds, anyways? More »

Remember back last year when Japan built a couple of really big giant life sized robot statues? Well, it seems to have sparked a Giant Robot (statue) Cold War with the rest of Asia. The first to respond seems to be Korea. When will the fighting end! More »

From Girlybubble: Korean artist Jin Young Yu is a woman who prefers to be a homebody instead of going out. When she does go out, she likes to remain unnoticed. Her haunting work mirrors her quiet personality. Her translucent sculptures represent “invisible people” who blend in with their environment to “climb into a space of their own and reject other people’s intrusion.” More »

Ok. I realize that I must really behind on my hilarious Youtube videos because apparently this one has been around for a while. When I found it, I thought it was just two hilarious Asian guys lipsyncing to the Backstreet Boys. I did a little research and found out that this video shot them to stardom in their home country of China. They are known as the Back Dorm Boys, and no one really knows their names, which intrigues me. There is also a guy in the back that plays random games like Counter-Strike, and I am pretty sure he was playing World of Warcraft and Halo in two of them, but that was based on comments of youtube users. Have a look and laugh! More »
