Afterschool gets an award from one of Japan’s highest music honors. The award was given for the 2009 New artist.If they were giving awards for Korean artists, I think that was pretty tough with all the competition that came out in Korea. Just about everyday for 2 months a new group debuted. I admit it comes to be a little bit of a surprise, because they didn’t have any Japanese songs out.

Notice the funny coincidence here. Gahi, who’s been BoA’s backing dancer since beyond 2002, was sitting next to BoA this time in her own group. Very nice progression in history!

..feels bad that So Young 소영 left the group just before this award.
