The idea that Japanese homes are small is a bit wrong. Japanese homes and apartments located within big cities are small (and expensive!). The real untold story in Japan is about their really weird sized and shaped home. For example this really skinny house.

The house is just under fix feet wide. That’s right. Six feet. This is apparently just fine for some people (hint, starts with ‘Japan’ and ends with ‘ese’), but for some reason I don’t think this style will be catching on anytime soon.

Or I could be wrong because I’ve personally seen 4 or 5 other homes in a similar fashion. Sigh… Doesn’t Japan realize that 70% of its landmass in UNINHABITED!?!?!
