On Sunday, January 24th, Japanese singer/songwriter Utada Hikaru stopped at the Fillmore in San Francisco for her “In The Flesh” concert tour. Crowds of people came out to see the show and tickets sold out fast. The concert was mostly promoting her English songs, but to the crowds pleasure, she managed to squeeze in probably her most well-known song: First Love. Utada always gives solid performances and fans were not dissatisfied at all.
San Francisco was the fourth stop on her tour. For the next two weeks Utada will be hitting up Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, New York, and London.

^ How come Siralop?
^ Maybe because of the security? That was a huge pain for me at the concert. They searched down everyone and even took away my camera!
Which concert did you go to Siralop7? The San Francisco one?
I went to the The Filmore in SF and yes because of Security. I was texting myself notes from the concert to put in my scrapbook as well as blogging about my experience. I forgot my pen and pad to takes notes with. The Filmore wasn’t selling that nor were they letting people go in and out of the building. Security was so bad that they had staff within the crowd as well as them walking by every two minutes. I know they were talking away cell phones and telling people to put them away too. It really ruined my night there and I know now that I am not going to the Filmore for anything unless it is the last and only option.
i would love to attend a Utada Hikaru concert. she’s simply amazing and her vocals are great.

^ I’ve had that problem too in concerts, but it didn’t ruin my fun.

I went to this concert and Utada was good but it was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a concert!

It’s Utada! I totally miss her!
I like this news!
Damn, maybe she might have another tour in the US sometime.
If so, I want Ningin to tell me BEFORE the tickets sell out aha
I highly doubt she’ll have a tour here in the U.S. again anytime soon. I mean, she barely does concerts in Japan. Maybe when she releases another two english albums she’ll consider it. But that’s only if she doesn’t retire before then (I’m really sad that she hinted at that).
So you should try to go to the Boston or New York concert. It’s definitely worth it.

I wish I could’ve gone to her Chicago one since it is the closest one to where I live!
You missed out! I made it to her Chicago concert despite it being a tuesday night. It was really cold but well worth the wait. Her show was awesome!
London is just a tad bit far for me.
Yep yep, super fun stuff. I even wrote a detailed report on it at my LJ if anyone’s interested: http://conkwe.livejournal.com/
Maybe. Damn tickets sold out, but they new york concert is still open…
I thought tickets were sold out for every show except the Las Vegas one? Heh, I’m always up to date with Utada news.
You could always ebay or craiglist some tickets. Uhh, do craiglist though, it’s usually cheaper. I remember at her LA performance there were people scalping tickets. It’s such a rip off though.
Update: they just announced another show for London, UK on February 11. I think it’s because they oversold for the first show and a lot of people were disappointed.
^ ah thats cool, maybe you guys might unexpectedly meet someday XD
That would be pretty cool
