T-ARA, Beast, and After School bo beeped their way to the top of the competition for the High1 Seoul Music awards! I have to remind you that 2009 was full of fierce competitors for the numerous debuts that occurred nearly every day for 2 months straight. My entire life seemed to be devoted to covering new groups here and there!

The camera man here at 32 seconds got a little carried away…

During the course of Fall, when most of them debuted, only one took the crown and that was Beast.
T-ARA and After School debuted in the mid year and outlasted the longest. I guess when you’re sexy looking and make tunes that can’t be surgically removed from your brain, there’s no stopping you, right?

Acceptance

If you want to know how strict the award calculations were, here goes:
20% on mobile poll, 10% on SportsSeoul popularity level, 50% on album and music sales and 20% on panel judgement. As you can tell, having a complete package was the only way to win.

I’m very excited for them all because are my same favorite 3 groups that debuted last year! -Congratulations, RAWRRR!! Come on, celebrate with me!

Awesome! i think they deserved it! Especially T-ARA, i really like their album and their performances.

Well the girls weren’t present, then yeah. T-ara worked hard though…


If this were in terms of the best CD, then T-ara wins. They had more tracks and obviously it’s a full album. If this was in terms of best Rookie Group, then 2NE1 wins. They instantly were known from the start, while it took time for T-ara to settle in.


^ So am I, surprised..He’s just not into it, oh well.


I’m surprised that someone doesn’t think T-ara deserved this award… I seriously think they did. Anyways!

It was so cute how Eunjung and Hyomin mentioned the missing two members at the end ^^ and I think Soyeon would feel super special while sitting at home, watching TV and hearing her dongsaeng say get well soon ^^ hehe

Of course I’ve listened to their songs, or I wouldn’t be able to judge. I only liked one, maybe two of their songs, so I personally felt that they weren’t a strong enough group for this award.

As I was sayin’ before this isn’t really your type of music. Bo beep and Oh Too happy sounding for you or something..

2nE1 could of made it but had problems I heard. But I would pick them over Beast since they came first.

I thought 2ne1 would be better than BEAST. If I had to choose. Fire was great. But YG didnt show, so no show, no award (At least thats what I hear)

After School, yeah they deserve it… But T-ara and BEAST? Ehhhhhhhhh… Was this a no show no award ceremony? Because I don’t think 2NE1 was there…
