So enough of this filler junk that the anime is dealing out in Bleach. Today’s post is going to regress back to the actual storyline. The latest chapter of the Bleach manga is Chapter 391: The Blazing Glaciers.

SPOILER ALERT!

So up to this point, Ichigo has arrived back in the real world, and everyone is ready to go. Aizen has already displayed consider power by dispatching of Captain Komamura with relative ease. The bloodshed continues in this chapter as Aizen easily swats away the two attacking vizards Love and Rose. Fellow vizard Lisa tries a sneak attack but fails. Aizen comments that vizard are nothing more than pseudo-arrancar.

With basically all the offensive vizard incapacitated save for Shinji, Caption Soifon takes the stand next. With the aid of her clones and Captain Hitsugaya’s ice, she is able to get close enough to attempt her “Death in Two Steps” attack. It fails. Aizen explains that his reiatsu overpowers hers so that attack wouldn’t work.

Aizen doesn’t talk for long though, because Captain Kyoraku uses his zanpakutou’s special ability to surprise attack Aizen. The assault works and Hitsugaya quickly rushes in for the final blow. Aizen comments that Hitsugaya is young and foolish, but he immediately senses danger when he realizes that Shinji has used his perception altering shikai. The final scene is Hitsugaya impaling Aizen from behind. Aizen has a legitimate look of surprise on his face, and blood is gushing out from his wound.

Basically… WOW! But, I’m going to say that this is too good to be true. This could go either one of two ways. 1) Aizen reveals his own hollowfication or 2) The “Aizen” they are fighting is just an illusion. Either way, Ichigo has not even participated in the fight yet, and we all know that it has to happen sometime!
