To begin the 61st Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan, people built a 26 meter high baroque church made entirely out of snow! What’s a Sapporo Snow Festival? It’s an event where various snow and ice sculptures are showcased for 7 days, and about 2 million people come to see this spectacle every winter. It sounds like so much fun! I wish I can go. For those who live in Japan or plan to visit sometime in the next few days can still witness the event before it ends on the 11th. Too bad it doesn’t snow where I live. I haven’t touched snow since I was 4 years old. Those were the good old days.
Do you think this sculpture is impressive? Or have you seen better snow sculptures? Can you make one? I know I can’t.
