On a Thursday morning in Japan, 45-year-old Susumu Moriya was arrested for drunk driving after arriving at a police station to renew his driver’s license. An officer at the Sagamihara Kita police station could not help but smell the traces of alcohol in the man’s breath while he was trying to help him print out a form from a touch screen computer (with little success). He asked Moriya how he got at the station. He told him he walked there. Right……..

After a different officer tried to help, Moriya couldn’t take it any more (I guess printing from a touch screen is that difficult when you’re drunk) and threw his license to the ground. He was told to go home. However, the police officers noticed him entering a car in the parking lot and drive away. Wait, I thought he walked there? Tsk, tsk. He was promptly arrested 200 meters away from the station.

Tip of the day: Don’t renew your driver’s license drunk or touch screen computers will become your enemy.
