Japan has the reputation of liking to kill and eat whale. A bad reputation that it kind of deserves and kind of doesn’t deserve. Most people in Japan don’t really have strong feelings on the issue (in fact most people agree whale doesn’t taste that good). What they can all agree on is that a dead whale is not much fun.

This humpback whale was found washed up on a beach in Chiba Prefecture, not too far away from Metro Tokyo. It was dead long before it washed up. The interesting part about this is how interested the people in the background of the interview are in the whale. People, children, dogs. All very interested.

Though before someone starts commenting about the horrors of Japanese whaling just remember this… thanks to the new government budget cuts, the Whaling Research Center (the guys who kill the whales) will probably lose all funding and thus have to shut down operations. Kind of an anticlimactic end to years of protests.

The best part being that Whale Wars will finally be canceled now that they have nothing to be all douchy over.
