The youngest member of SNSD, Seohyun, admitted today on SBS’s Strong Heart that she really had a hard time singing the lyrics to their new song “Oh!”
“I had a very difficult time recording the part that says ‘Oppa Saranghae [Oppa, I love you]‘. Although I practiced several times beforehand, I just couldn’t get myself to sing that part when we went in the recording room.”
Fellow member Sooyung also admitted that the producers told the members to really exaggerate their parts. This is an obvious attempt at attracting the attention of pre-pubescent boys, which are not surprisingly a large part of the SNSD fan base.
I think this kind of solidifies my point that sometimes artists are just doing what it takes to make money, no matter how uncomfortable it may make them.
I feel kind of sorry for her, since she is not comfortable singing those lines. If you go to the source, you’ll see that a lot of people commenting think that this song is too cute as well. Thoughts?
