How’s BoA doing at her current Identity tour? Her first day just passed, and was set at Kobe, Japan. She sure looked excited in these shots! Seems BoA is sporting some of her most recent fashion designs. Still some traces of MJ here, as well as good amount of plaid, topped off with gold shoes. What do you think?

Her set list includes most of her Identity album, some of her American hits and all-time classics. I believe a set list should always start off fast and strong and put ballads in the middle to excite your crowd, in my opinion.

Setlist:
1. This Is Who I Am
2. EASY
3. Energetic
4. make a secret
5. IZM
6. LAZER
7. interlude♯1
8. is this love
9. DO THE MOTION
10. Mamoritai ~White Wishes~
11. interlude♯2
12. Neko Love
13. -ballad medley-
・Smile again
・Every Heart -Minna no Kimochi-
・JEWEL SONG
14. THE END Soshite and…
15. Possibility
16. Eien
17. Fallin’
18. Joyful Smile
19. LOSE YOUR MIND
20. BUMP BUMP!
-encore-
21. Eat You Up
22. Before you said goodbye to me
23. my all

^ I see what you mean. At least with BoA’s tour, there’s still other songs that you might enjoy, besides her Identity ones that will be played.

In addition, its her label that decides when and where an artist performs on demand, not BoA.

Yeah, I know it’s mostly up to her label. You’d think they’d give her more control over her decisions in her work since she’s been successful in the business for a while now. But then again, that gave us the horrible Identity album.

i think BoA should come back to do a korean album

That might be unlikely since she gets more sales/profit in Japan. But she could always pull off a DBSK move like with their Mirotic album. It’s been like what, about five years since her last album? She’d make a big comeback.

I actually want her to release more U.S. work. I wanna see her more. smile

Thats what I’ve been saying ALL ALONG. You see, just because you give an artist creative control over an album/image doesn’t mean its going to be ALL GOOD. Look what happened to Identity. Gave BoA freedom to make whatever she wanted but its not pro, at least not yet.

^ We’ve been wishing that since forever :(

When BoA goes back to something more recognizable for the actual fans, well then those fans will go away. Maybe some will stay, but I really doubt it. I wish her the best of luck for what she does after this.

Identity really isn’t a good album, so that’s all I’m saying. I want a different BoA back and not this style.

You, me and every BoA fan since 2000 who supported her. Its only a minority who like the new image and songs.

^ Awww harsh words. But I’m actually waiting for it to be over too.

boa, always so fashionable and stylish smile

I don’t think identity deserved a live tour…

Unfortunately, there was no choice. Because albums don’t earn the primary cashflow, live touring is an absolute must to earn profits. Profit divisions are highest for PRO (performance royalties) at 75%+ or more. You can earn millions touring. -According to the Business of Songwriting laws

(This is despite the fact the fact that I did not like Identity album)

So more tours for low-sales albums and unnecessary tours for high-sales albums? Hehe. jk. I get what it meant and does. Still, there should be a line to where they’re looking for profit. It makes them look like gold diggers. I mean, a lot of them had to be aware that the album wasn’t a hit. They should quickly move on and work on the next project instead of promoting unworthy material. It doesn’t look good on BoA’s part. I’m sort of finding this as a sell-out situation (oh, I’m so not trying to bring that whole argument up again, but that’s just how I see it). But I guess it’s a plus for fans who want to see her live.

I can’t wait for her hair to grow back. Also, for this whole Identity phase to be over.

boa is so pretty

^ I think so too. It wasn’t a big hit and didn’t have any great songs. She should focus on her next project. I hope she does more English music. It would be so cool if she toured here in the U.S.
