A man in Aichi Prefecture, Japan decided to pay back his neighbor for all the noise that irritated him when he lived in Toyota City’s apartment complex. He was so grateful for the noise that he went overboard with the pay back and decided to set his apartment on fire.

Once Tetsuya Yamamoto’s employment contract ended and he was forced to move out of his apartment, he wanted to give a dear neighbor a final present for all the annoyance he had to endure while living under him. And what better way to express this than to burn down his apartment? Isn’t the act of giving just wonderful? Yamamoto should have gave a different present though because the fire ended up spreading to two other apartments destroying about 40 square meters of space. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Yamamoto ended up turning himself into the police and simply stated, “The resident above me was noisy, so I thought I’d trouble him in return.”

Moral of the story? Be a considerate neighbor. You don’t know if your neighbor is crazy until it’s too late. Better to be safe than sorry.
