Japan’s population has come to a virtual standstill. Its not growing. In fact everyone is slightly freaked out because the population is really really old and about ready to retire. Well now the government has a plan!

The most impressive part of this plan is that for once, it makes total sense. The new Finance Minister Naoto Ka came up with the idea to make people go home. Oh yes. Wednesday will be “Go home when you’re actually scheduled to” days, and an announcement will be played at 6:15 that tells people to “Go home.”

While this may seem silly to, well, everyone everywhere you’re forgetting that Japan has some weird work place issues. For instance, if you’re scheduled to work from 8 am to 6 pm, you’ll probably end up leaving work around 10 pm. If you’re lucky. For some reason Japanese office workers play a game of “who can stay the latest to show their loyalty to the office.” Even if they don’t have any work to do. Be happy you don’t work in Japan.

When you and your wife are both expected to work 14 hour days, no wonder there isn’t time for love. I only hope that the rest of Japan adopts this policy otherwise we’re all in for a loss.
