Eating my words: Big Bang’s Lollipop 2

Teasers can be a very deceiving thing. When I first heard the preview for Big Bang’s new Lollipop 2 promotional song, I thought that it was kind of trite. The full version just recently hit, and I guess I’m now eating my own words (or a lollipop); the song is not all that bad.

Groups are groups for a reason. Each member has something different to bring to the table. The preview only featured TOP and G-Dragon, and lacked any vocal verses. After hearing the full version, I think that the part distributions were actually done quite well. Although TOP’s chorus does get a little repetitive, I guess it’s what’s expected for a promotional song. I mean, you want people to remember the name of your product. Lollipop. Thanks, Big Bang, I got it now.
