JYP Entertainment recently released a statement in the form of a full length letter explaining everything from the beginning of 2PM’s ex-leader Jaebum and his controversial Myspace issue till now..and the shocking fact that Jaebum will never return to 2PM shocked K-Hottests and international fans alike.
Here’s a little snippet of the letter,
Last September, 2PM’s member Park Jaebeom announced his withdrawal from the group and returned to Seattle after a message he wrote on the internet during his trainee days caused backlash. We will now reveal what course of action will be taken.
…
In November, 2009, the company proposed that Park Jaebeom make his comeback through an album that would have been released this year in April, and Park Jaebeom had agreed to these plans. The plans called for Jaebeom’s return to Korea on the third week of February and a press conference would have been held before promotions as a 7 member 2PM began.
…
On December 22nd, 2009, Jaebeom confessed to Jung Wook, a representative, that he had done something wrong during the Again and Again promotions. Apparently, it was far more serious than his MySpace controversy.
We thus decided to terminate our exclusive contract with Jaebeom.
…
To 2PM and all the people who waited for Park Jaebeom’s return, we apologize deeply and are sorry to have to reveal this sad news to everyone.
The company and the remaining 6 members will prepare even harder and greet you with a better image.
Thank you.
As you can see and/or predict, 2PM’s fans - especially Jaebum’s - are not in the happiest of moods right now. So some of them actually went and trashed the JYPE building while others spread some negative rumors around:
On the 26th, fans littered the building with ripped up pictures and CD’s of the 2PM members and have even put bundles of chrysanthemum flowers at the entrance. (TN: Chrysanthemums and other white flowers signify death in Korea.)
The fans stated, “It means that without Jaebum, 2PM fans are dead.”
Many have since withdrawn from the official fan cafe of 2PM and have stated, “Should 2PM continue to promote themselves with 6 members, we will no longer be a 2PM fan. We will become Jaebum’s personal fans or 2PM’s anti fans.”
Fans are also pleading for the company to release a more detailed statement that is understandable.
There are also a variety of reasons circulating his resignation, such as ‘getting a female pregnant’ and ‘drug abuse.’ The reasons are getting more and more compressed, causing the fans to react with rage.

QUESTION: What did Jaebom do in the Again Again promotion? They making such a big deal even though I don’t like Jaebom. If Junsu or any other members left. I’m sure it would be a MUCH MUCH bigger deal

^ I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the Again & Again MV...they said that Jaebum apparently did something inappropriate during their promotions for the song. And this is supposedly a different matter and is not related to the Myspace controversy.
And actually, isn’t JYPE the most lenient K-Pop company? I mean, they took on that...thing (forgot what it was) that basically makes them listen to their artists’ needs--which was why they let Sunmi go when she wanted to take a break.
JYP needs to suck something! like really? Without the leader, 2pm is gonna crash, and like during the conference, the members said we’ll just let him go, like what happened? Just because of the comments on myspace? and i dont see anything wrong with the again and again mv o.o DONT HATE ON JAEBOEM!!! I wont support 6pm only 2pm

This is what happens when a company tries to control every aspect of an artist(s) lives. Korea should really get with the times and give their artists more power so the company won’t have to go though such lengths to sell an album and the artists will be happy with their company and what they do.

I think the fans’ reaction is unfair. They should not take it out on all the other 2PM members. Besides, why are they boycotting in such a negative way? Do they really dislike 2PM to do that?
this usually doesn’t last for too long. Last time when Jaebum left, they were angry and boycott everyday yet still continued to buy 2PM’s “1:59” album...but I’m not sure about this time when Jay is leaving permanently :/
Of course they bought it. JYP lied and said Jae Bum would be returning, so they still had a lot of hope. If JYP said he wasn’t going to return back then, the sales for 2PM’s 1:59 would have not sold much.

2PM fans are going through the five stages of grief…
1. Denial and Isolation - Not believing it and boycotting 2PM by not buying CDs and JYPE products etc
2. Anger - This incident.. among many others
3. Bargaining - False hope.. fans do what they can to get Jaebum back (supporting jaebum) but it will not work
4. Depression - I’m sure all 2PM fans and perhaps 2PM themselves are going through this
5. Acceptance - yet to happen
Thought not in order, right now, they are at anger. Eventually, they’ll have to accept that Jaebum will never return and move on.

Yes it is said.
You know guys, at this rate, 2PM is sure to be canceled. If fans aren’t interested in 2PM without Jaebum, then the record label might just terminate the group. And labels have the right to cut contracts at ANY time.
02/27/10 5:13 am
Yeah, I totally agree with all of you guys.
I love KPop, but sometimes its fans take things a little too far…
I’m pretty sure Jaebum would be upset that 2PM’s “fans” are taking out their anger/frustrations on the whole group. D:

I don’t think it’s fair to the other 2PM members, they’ve been working hard too. They don’t deserve to be treated like this… to me, the fans are exaggerating. I mean, sure, it’s sad that Jaebum left 2PM, but the fans will need to move on someday =/
This is very true though. What a crock. Keep telling the fans that Jaebum is going to come back every press conference, but instead they cut him off.

They may as well give them to people for free if they’re going to break them D:
I think fans are completely blowing this out of proportion. I mean, yeah, Jaebum’s not coming back and JYP was kind of leading them on, but is it really fair to take this out on 2PM as a whole?
I know! I feel bad for the 2PM members. The fans reactions are pretty much saying that the other 2PM members are nothing without Jaebum.

my friend decided to boycott but instead of breaking the album she gave it to me
A MUCH better idea if you ask me.

Um, actually if they were a fan of Jaebum why would they break his cds?
I think there’s a few people who’d buy it on ebay, despite all the boycotts.
Those CDs cost good money! WHY WOULD YOU BEAK THEM?? Sell them on eBay, for god’s sake!
