Today’s Music Video of the Day will feature an insane music video directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation), produced by artist Takashi Murakami, and starring a blue haired Kirsten Dunst covering The Vapors‘ Turning Japanese song. The music video is everywhere and makes no sense, factors that make for an entertaining and fun experience to watch. It has Kirsten Dunst wandering around the streets of Akihabara (a haven for anime and video game fanatics) and having a time of her life. She even cosplays as some random magical girl with blue hair, mixed up colors, and a sparking wand. The song, Turning Japanese, has always been catchy to me. The song has basically been kept intact in the video with the exception of Kirsten singing it. It’s not a bad cover but I still prefer the original. Also as a side note, I think Kirsten Dunst looks good in blue hair. It suits her well. Actually, the whole outfit she’s wearing surprisingly looks good on her.
